Flowers
One of the many things I love about going home once a year is seeing all the green grass and leafy trees but what I love most is the abundance of flowers. While nearly everyone has a border filled with annuals and/or perennials, the one thing you can count on thing that I really appreciate are road side wild flowers and grasses. Just growing and thriving without anyone giving it a special thought. My daughter especially enjoyed the wildflowers. On things that I love about about New England, one that I miss mightily here in the desert, is shade. Plain old neglected shade. Shade is a wonderful thing. Dappled sunlight, cloudy days, misty rain, fog and dew are other favorites too. I could go on and on.
