The baby tortoises that hatched in the backyard are now all to new homes. The kids were a little disappointed but understood that we already have two and it takes a commitment to care for baby tortoises (they don't roam the backyard freely - the thought of the lawn mower meeting up with the 2"x2" hardshell!). They went to homes that are set up for tortoise babies. One is a designated tortoise rescue home. Bye-bye babies.
