Salem, MA was a real treat. I loved the House of Seven Gable's house. This was Nathaniel Hawthorne's aunt's house. He lived there for a number of years and the house was his inspiration for the novel. The gardens were beautiful. Here is a sampling of the flowers found there. The house with the gate is part of the Peabody Museum and built in the 1600's. It looked like a nice place to live.
